We are currently facing a housing crisis. We must take action to prevent private equity firms from buying homes. Homes are for people, not corporations.
Investment in public housing is imperative. It's time to build and provide affordable housing for everyone.
Housing policies should work for all people, not just real estate developers.
All women deserve equal access to workplace safety, equal pay, and paid parental leave, as well as full access to healthcare, and reproductive services and bodily autonomy.
A robust public transit system is vital in supporting our growing population. Offering additional reliable options through doubled transit service and expanded bus lines will improve congestion and travel times for all. We must advance rail projects in the region, including grade separations for congested railway corridors.
Our current power grids and community power generation need expansion and upgrades. Maintaining our power needs means fighting against unnecessary and costly mega energy projects which only serve and benefit investor-owned utility shareholders.
We must modernize our failing bridges and infrastructure, and reconnect communities divided by large arterial roads and freeways.
Healthcare is not a privilege; it is a basic human right. We must create a healthcare system that works for all, not just the insurance companies.
We must invest in the most vulnerable members of our society. This requires a holistic public safety approach to community problems, including investments in youth programs, emergency assistance for rent and utilities, healthcare, housing, education, and supportive services.
One job should be enough. I support creating jobs that pay a livable wage. It’s time to raise the minimum wage and tie it to inflation so that everyone who works hard can meet their basic needs.
If we want to bring back American manufacturing, we need a solid plan. I support investing in our workforce and apprenticeship programs, as well as our agricultural, manufacturing, and technology sectors.
I will help pass the PRO Act and support efforts for collective bargaining and stronger labor protections. At the same time, I will ensure that OSHA standards and regulations are enforced and strengthened. I oppose the privatization of federal agencies and dangerous free trade agreements that could harm workers. I will also fight to protect pensions for all workers.
Additionally, we must ensure that AI does not undermine union contracts and worker protections.
I will fight against efforts to dismantle the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act, and expand enforcement against massive polluters and repeat offenders.
We now experience "once-in-a-century" fires yearly. We must increase funding and support for our local and national fire services.
I will work to create AI regulations that protect the environment. Our natural resources are not commodities to be sold to the highest bidder, and our energy resources should not be given away to corporations at the expense of real people. Investors in data centers and other corporations with high energy demands should fund increased clean energy production instead of passing the cost on to consumers.
We must protect and expand our public lands. Issa and Trump want to sell off our sacred national parks to the highest bidder. This would threaten our country’s natural beauty and wildlife while polluting our air and water. This must end immediately. We must expand our national parks and wildlife conservation programs to ensure these treasures can be enjoyed by future generations.
Why is the tax rate for small businesses higher than that for multinational corporations like Amazon? Ensuring that corporations pay their fair share in taxes will be one of my top priorities.
Monopolies devastate local businesses, gouge customers, and tip the balance of economic power toward mega-corporations. I will work to expand the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division by providing more funding and staff to enable more aggressive enforcement.
I will focus on building economic opportunity for small business by making it easier to access the federal market, by expanding SBA loan, guarantee, surety bonds programs.
Our government is kidnapping people off the streets and imprisoning them in horrible conditions without due process. This is unconscionable.
I support reforming the path to citizenship. With waits anywhere between five and 25 years to become a naturalized U.S. citizen, modernization is necessary in order to streamline and simplify the process.
A robust education system sets us all up for success. We must expand and strengthen all levels of our education systems, from Pre-K to higher education universities. Making high quality education available to all prepares our students and workers for successful futures.
I will work to make schools safe for LGBTQIA+ students through proper accommodations. I will ensure an end to discrimination in healthcare and ensure individuals receive the healthcare that they deserve. I will restore the right for transgender individuals to serve openly in the military.
I will work to prohibit all discrimination on the basis of sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation in places of public accommodation by supporting the Equality Act.
I support a ban on Congressional stock trading, while also prohibiting Members of Congress from lobbying Congress or federal agencies at any point after leaving office. Currently, Senators are prohibited from lobbying Congress for two years after leaving office. Members of the House of Representatives are prohibited from lobbying Congress for one year after leaving office. We need to expand this to be permanent.
Additionally, I will support the overturning of Citizen United.
I will never, ever vote to send Americans into a pointless war.
I will honor and uphold tribal sovereignty. I will ensure that tribal lands have the necessary resources and funds for services, infrastructure, and economic development.
As the campaign continues, I look forward to creating a detailed plan on tribal issues. I will do this by working together with local tribes. These tribes have not been well represented in Washington D.C. for a long time.
